Kenya and France will jointly host the “Africa Forward Summit: Africa–France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth” in Nairobi on 11–12 May 2026. The President of the French Republic, the President of the Republic of Kenya, along with other African Heads of State and Government, are expected to attend.
This inaugural Africa Forward Summit marks a significant milestone in relations between France and the African continent, nearly ten years after the French President’s landmark speech in Ouagadougou. It will also be the first summit of its kind hosted and co-chaired with an English-speaking African country.
In this context, Sciences Po continues to place Africa at the heart of its global strategy through its regional presence in Dakar and its strong academic partnerships and student mobility programmes across the continent with institutions such as Ashesi University, Strathmore University, and Cheikh Anta Diop University. This commitment is further reflected in flagship initiatives such as the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, the Africa Programme, and the newly launched dual degree with the University of Cape Town. Together, these initiatives aim to foster sustained dialogue and impactful collaboration between Africa and Europe, and to help shape a new generation of leaders equipped to address global challenges.
